Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced ETL Engineer with strong expertise in Ab Initio tools and a proven track record in supporting Enterprise Data Warehouse operations. You will be responsible for managing production support issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the efficiency of ETL processes while maintaining high availability and performance.

Position Description

Our ETL Engineer plays a key role in supporting the organization's data warehouse operations using ETL tools like Ab Initio. You will be responsible for production support, root cause analysis, and resolution of issues, working closely with monitoring tools like Control-M. The position demands hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools, a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is a team player who is self-motivated, excels under pressure, and quickly adapts to a dynamic technological environment.

Position Responsibilities

As an ETL Engineer, you will:

Support Enterprise Data Warehouse using ETL tools like Ab Initio.Handle production support operations, including incident management and independently triage root cause analysis of issues. Perform L1 and L2 production support 24x7.Communicate effectively on production support issues and manage tickets, resolutions, and reporting metrics.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production operations.Maintain and enhance production support documentation.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.Provide training and support to junior team members as needed.Qualifications

Ability to work overnight shifts (1 week on, 2 weeks off).Minimum of 5 years of experience in ETL development using Ab Initio tools in a Data Warehousing environment.At least 4 years of experience in production support projects.Strong skills in Unix and SQL.Proficiency with Control-M or any other similar job scheduling tool.Experience with BMC ticketing/reporting tools.Basic knowledge of Azure cloud.Good oral and written communication skills.Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Experience

Hands-on experience with various Ab Initio tools including GDE, EME, etc.Familiarity with monitoring tools like Control-M.Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.Ability to work as a team player, self-motivated, and capable of meeting deadlines.Problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly within a mature technology environment.Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and/or equivalent experience.#LI-MH3

Annual Salary$80,000.00 - $160,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
