The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the proper functioning of fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems in compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and local regulations. This critical role contributes to the safety and protection of lives and property in our community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Fire Alarm System Inspection:

Conduct regular inspections of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code) and local codes.Identify and document any deficiencies, malfunctions, or violations related to fire alarm systems.Verify that alarm panels, detectors, notification devices, and emergency power systems are operational.Test and maintain communication pathways, such as phone lines and communication networks.Provide recommendations and reports for necessary repairs and upgrades.Stay current with industry advancements and technology related to fire alarm systems.Fire Sprinkler System Inspection:

Perform routine inspections of fire sprinkler systems following NFPA 25 (Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems) and local codes.Inspect sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, pumps, and related components for proper functionality.Conduct flow tests and inspections of backflow preventers.Document any issues or deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate with contractors for system repairs and maintenance as needed.Ensure that water supply sources for fire sprinklers are adequate and functional.Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDStrong attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate findings.Excellent problem-solving skills.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experienceNICET CertificationReg 4Knowledge of appropriate NFPA Codes

Compensation:

$20-$30/hour depending on experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand for 8 hours, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
