Linux Systems Administrator III

Overview:

This is a System Administrator III position within an embedded IT support team which provides support on a stand-alone and classified network within a world class Department of Energy laboratory. The organizations overall mission is to provide consistency of regulatory requirements - interpretation and implementation; application of "minimum requirements and best practices" to the center laboratories; and to support initiatives to improve the safety and security of the center workers and lab operations. This team provides mostly Microsoft Windows support to their customer base and travels to our Kauai facility on a quarterly basis to offer technical support for our customers test environment.Responsibilities:Deploy and maintain production Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks and filesystems.Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packages.Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.Work with Enterprise IT Configuration Management automation tools/approachesQualifications:

Education/Experience BA/BS in IT Related field plus 2 years of IT experienceMust be a US CitizenshipMaintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.Experience in Unix/Linux system administrationRequied Skills:Experience in Linux Web Cluster administrationExperience in Apache, Ngnix, haproxyExperience in Ansible for automation of provisioning and configuration of Linux servicesWorking knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDAPWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocolsFamiliarity or experience with virtualized systems (such as KVM, ESX) and containersKnowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log filesExperience with solving practical problems and system analysis of the iT infrastructuresExperience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environmentAbility to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environmentDesired:Strong networking backgroundUser and group managementProcess managementWHY WORK AT ENCANTADO TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS?Encantado is powered by our people.
