Carlisle Companies Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for aRegional Technical Sales Representativeto join ourMTL Holdings teamlocated inDallas, TX.The Regional Technical Sales Representative will work closely with the MTL and various private label sales teams in their region to drive new customer acquisition and growth in revenue. This will be accomplished primarily by conducting on-site measurements, digital take-offs, plan reviews, product demonstration, and other field and office activities that assist our customers in properly utilizing MTL edge metal products. The specific goals will be to act as a resource to more clients, to provide training and technical support for MTL products, and to secure new customer conversion to achieve revenue growth in the territory.

The RTS is a trusted, personable and technical resource that advises our contractor customers, distributors and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and conscientiously visit customer project sites, offices, and work locations to support client activities in the Midwest Territory
  • Build customer loyalty and strong relationships by providing an exceptional level of service and delivering our SPEQ Promise (Speed, Protection, Expertise and Quality) to our partners and external customers.
  • Properly and accurately use standard and proprietary measurement tools and methods to perform accurate onsite, field measurement services for roofing or roofing edge products.
  • Coordinate and effectively manage your schedule for onsite field visits, measure appointments and sales appointments,
  • Effectively interact with customers to understand their needs, and advise them on the proper selection of products in a consultative sales environment.
  • Conduct dynamic and informative product demonstrations to increase awareness of, and encourage the purchase and use of our products.
  • Submit in a timely, legible and error-free manner, all measurement-related documents and/or blueprints required for internal print-approval and quote processing.
  • Thoroughly communicate the needs from the 'field measurement' submission, to 'print approval' to allow proper quoting and 'ordering to assure excellent levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with internal and cross-functional teams to meet or exceed customer expectations; including but not limited to: Engineering, Customer Accounts Services, Accounting, Production Operations, and/or Shipping.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively to remove barriers in delivering the SPEQ Promise to our customers.
  • Conduct outside sales and business development activities to secure and convert new customers.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices of Metal-Era; as well as adhere to all policies, procedures and practices of the customers' sites you visit.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this position. Consideration will be provided to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; plus 2+ years' successful experience in a customer-facing position, preferably in an outside or B2B environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully work independently, effectively managing one's own time and prioritizing one's own workload.
  • Proficiency in using PLAN SWIFT Architectural Take-Off software is preferred, but will train the right candidate.
  • Above-average computing and technical skills, including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, consultative sales, and conflict resolutions skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the proven ability to properly and accurately take, document, and aggregate measurements.
  • High attention to detail and a consistent history of accuracy in completed work.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Ability to safely and regularly climb ladders to conduct inspections, demonstrations, and measurements of commercial roofing components.
  • Current valid driver's license, a clean driving record, access to your own reliable transportation, and ability to spend significant time driving a vehicle to appointments each workday (up-to 6-8 hours, in some cases.)
  • Some regions will require the candidate to have a valid US Passport for travel into Canada or Mexico.
