About
The Content Design & Product Writing (CD&PW) team is responsible for creating clear, consistent, and engaging content that enhances user experiences across all of our products. As part of this effort, the team collaborates with various teams to ensure that content aligns with product goals and user needs, while maintaining high standards of quality and clarity.
About the team
The TikTok Content Design & Product Writing team is made up of content designers and technical writers across the US, Singapore, and China who make TikTok easy to use for our diverse global audience. We're looking for a user experience (UX) Content Designer to collaborate closely with colleagues across Product Management, Design, User Research, Engineering, Legal and Localization to build products that captivate and engage our viewers and content creators.As a Content Designer in the Privacy and Responsibility product org, you'll work on impactful features around digital wellbeing, accessibility, and teen safety. Through clear, expressive writing, you'll transform product features and concepts so that they're intuitive and easy to understand for a variety of audiences. As an advocate for our users, you'll use design thinking, empathy, and data to help shape and refine our product - identifying opportunities to build better experiences for our users. You have a strong intuition for writing clear and concise content that is easily translated and localized for our global audience.Your portfolio includes writing samples with examples of how you have conveyed complex and sometimes sensitive content to both experienced and new users. You're independent, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving. You have experience juggling multiple projects and prioritizing them to deliver the greatest impact for your team and the company.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit high-quality UI copy that is consistent, clear, and aligned with the TikTok brand.
- Intake product requirements and partner with design to deliver content experiences quickly. Balance user and business goals.
- Create and deliver content strategies, audits, and other content initiatives to help set the strategic direction for your product areas.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, engineers, legal, comms, ops, and localization to deliver timely, high-quality content deliverables.
- Synthesize internal and external feedback to influence and drive consensus across multiple global stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements within the Content Design team and your assigned product team(s). Be an active voice in the room in proactively solving challenges and closing gaps.
- Ability to critique the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences to advocate for the best user experience.
- Lead and participate in quarterly OKRs to drive forward product and organizational goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years experience in content design for consumer-facing products.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Localization teams.
- Entrepreneurial attitude, ability to deal with rapid changes to priority, scope, and people.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment.
- You have a writing portfolio that showcases your writing skills including UI copy, style guides, help content, and more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Trust & Safety, Privacy, or other related areas.
- Experience working on a global product with colleagues in different time zones.
- Experience using Figma.
- Strong interest in social app products, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends.
- Experience with UX research/testing.
