Data Governance Quality Analyst

Zurich North America is currently hiring a Data Governance Quality Analyst and this person will work in a hybrid schedule out of our North America HQ in Schaumburg, IL. This person will report to the VP of Data Governance in the Chief Data Office. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Governance Quality Analyst to join our Data Governance team. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills, proficiency in SQL, and a deep understanding of data governance principles. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality, consistency, and security of our data assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance:
  • Support establishing a catalog operating model aligned with a data governance operating model.
  • Develop and deliver metadata standards recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with data governance policies.
  • Support data governance initiatives by providing expertise in data management and quality assurance.
  • Data Analysis:
  • Perform complex data analysis to support data governance initiatives.
  • Perform data profiling and develop data quality rules to support the data quality management process.
  • Data Quality Management:
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across various systems.
  • Develop and implement data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Communication:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Document data governance processes, data quality guidelines, and best practices.
  • Communicate data quality findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to team members and other stakeholders on data governance topics.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data governance and data quality.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance data governance and quality management.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Data Management area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area AND
  • Experience with data interrogation/analysis techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data Steward, or similar role with a focus on data quality and governance.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage data visualizations and business intelligence solutions with PowerBI
