Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as - 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

Job Overview

Working within the ACD Project Management department and reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Project Management provides vision, guidance and support for the team's projects and has final budgetary responsibilities for all projects. The Director, Project Management facilitates the definition of the project scope, goals, and deliverables, and oversees a number of positions in the Project Management department.

This position is based in Santa Ana, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of all projects
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff, and develop full scale project plans
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project management team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of all projects to stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Project evaluations and assessment of results

Qualifications

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
  • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply
  • May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
  • Experience with both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools based on the Project Management Institute (PMI) PM Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Direct industry experience in a project management capacity
  • Proven experience in people management
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management
  • Proficient in project management software
  • Exceptional planning, organizing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in a variety of high-stress situations

Environmental Safety Requirements
  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
  • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Manager
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee's Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, dust masks and face masks. Failure to comply with ACD safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities for the project manager and coordinator teams.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management or a related engineering field is required
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years' project management experience in a team leadership role preferred

Salary

$130,000-$175,000 per year
