Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Appian, DealCloud and Anaplan Product Owner to join our team. This Product Owner role involves overseeing the lifecycle and continuous improvement of our Appian and Anaplan platforms for Carlyle's Global Investment Solutions Segment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business process management and financial planning solutions, ensuring that both platforms efficiently meet our organizational needs. The Product Owner will partner with the Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) product team to analyze the business needs of stakeholders, identify business problems, propose solutions, and assure that projects are properly prioritized and that task deadlines are enforced.

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, D.C. and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $170,000 to $190,000.
In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Appian, DealCloud and Anaplan Product Owner to join our team. Responsibilities
Product Owner (Anaplan, Appian & DealCloud)
- Lead product vision and roadmap planning with GIS Chief Product Owner, GIS CIO and GIS Domain Lead to launch products that deliver data driven business insights.
- Works with GIS Stakeholders to define new and or enhanced product requirements and functionality to promote and drive business enablement, continuous data analytics and reporting improvements.
- Execute strategies to digitize data and processes for efficiency. Collaborates with stakeholders on product vision and strategy.
- Serve as the Financial Planning & Modeling Product Owner, and Business Process Management (BPM) Product Owner, managing and optimizing the multiple applications within the Anaplan, Appian and DealCloud Platforms to support business objectives.
- Partner with Anaplan, DealCloud and Appian development team, set clear goals based on the roadmap, and oversee the implementation of financial models, and BPM workflows, features and functionalities ensuring they meet business requirements and user satisfaction.
- Define how features will work and look through close collaboration with project team in design sessions, mockups, UX review, and usability testing.
- Coordinate rollout plan, user enablement, and follow up and analyzing adoption of features
- Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert from a business perspective on the applications owned.
Business Process Re-engineering
- Understand end-to-end processes and how they relate to relevant value streams of key capabilities within respective team, domain, and focus area.
- Lead the mapping of business processes to understand current states and design future states across various dimensions, including internal teams, business capabilities, control points, technology platforms, and data domains.
- Use insights, design, and end-to-end thinking to drive user-centric changes, identify and remedy pain points in users journeys, and implement actions to close gaps.
- Perform gap assessments, provide recommendations to process, product, and technology partners, and drive the implementation of strategic realignment initiatives to meet business objectives.
- Continuously improve and re-engineer processes across the GIS segment.
- Works with our GTS technical leads to understand technical debt and other technical impediments at a high level so that they can be prioritized on the roadmap.
- Identifies and escalates capacity, resource, and deliverable risks as needed.
- Works with GTS Partner to manage vendor relationships.
Production Support

Agile Product Development
- Create and maintain a team-level product roadmap to communicate priorities and key deliverables.
- Break down roadmap into backlog items like epics and stories, prioritizes them for sprints based on the product roadmap, and defines the MVP and its release plans.
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master and agile team to plan sprints, author user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and manage the team's workload and dynamics.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), manages feedback for new products and services, and ensures consistent engagement with the agile team for efficient roadmap planning.
- Provide bi-weekly release updates to stakeholders and partners with key teams to drive product updates and developments.
- Offer hands-on training to end-users, translating their needs into actionable business requirements, and supports the overall execution and delivery of product initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Concentration in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting Information Systems, or related field, strongly preferred.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification preferred.
Professional Experience
While structured learning and coaching will be provided, the following qualifications are recommended:
- Minimum of 7 years of overall professional experience, required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an Agile environment, strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good knowledge of private equity/asset management business, value streams, and technology and a deep, tactical way of thinking.
- Ability to translate strategic directions and business objectives into team goals.
- Know how to break down key features into appropriate user stories.
- Experience running high-impact initiatives within the organization.
- Effective delegator with proven management of cross-functional teams without direct supervision
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and can differentiate between distractions and the roadblocks that can impact goals.
- Ability to drive consensus among stakeholders, manage expectations, and build strong relationships.
