About the Position
Specialty Systems, Inc. (SSI) has immediate openings for a Digital Signal Processing Subject Matter Expert with the below described skills and experience to join our team of technical professionals supporting our Department of Defense customer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD
As part of the SSI team, you will work with radar subject matter experts and government stakeholders to understand the needs of future warfighters and guide development of current and experimental systems to better support these requirements. This will involve building complex simulations, leading live test events, and conducting original research into advanced signal processing techniques as well as new tactical uses for existing Army assets. Your work will directly influence the development of cutting-edge military technology and will help to improve the effectiveness of the United States Army warfighter.

As part of the SSI team, you will work with radar subject matter experts and government stakeholders to understand the needs of future warfighters and guide development of current and experimental systems to better support these requirements. Responsibilities
- Develop DSP algorithms, simulations, and modeling for RF systems
- Create new agile signal processing methods
- Lead engineering teams, develop technical project requirements, and use your DSP skillset in both hardware and software design
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience implementing solutions to DSP problems
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing technical and engineering teams
- 5+ years of experience leading the development of technical and engineering project requirements and deliverables, interacting directly with clients to identify problems, analyze data, generate solutions, and communicate results
- 5+ years of experience in working with ISR or EW systems research and development
- Knowledge of linear algebra and stochastic processes
- Ability to be fluent in developing and integrating scientific algorithms with MATLAB and C/C++
- Ability to develop digital signal processing algorithms and apply statistical methods for data analysis from a wide variety of sources
- Ability to provide detection, classification, and characterization of target signals
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- MS degree in EE or Computer Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with RF systems and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
- Experience with radar and optical signal processing
- Experience with implementing machine learning methods
- Experience with Linux systems and commands
- Knowledge of detection and estimation theory
- Knowledge of communications and information theory
- PhD degree in Computer Engineering, EE, or related discipline
