As the People Operations Partner (POP) at Western Veterinary Partners, you will become a key Operations partner and trusted advisor to leaders and Team Members across our organization. You'll partner with leadership across the organization to provide expertise and consultation in change management, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, compliance, employee training and talent development.
Additionally, the POP is responsible for aligning business objectives with Team Members and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the Organization to deliver value-added service to management and Team Members that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The POP maintains an effective level of business acumen as it relates to the areas they support.
Our private equity support produces a high growth environment through rapid acquisitions, and geographical expansion. This role is critical to supporting our people strategy and developing innovative data-driven people strategy recommendations. In this role, you will be the key partner supporting our Central operations. This role will support remote work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in within Operations.

Desired Education & Qualifications:
Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $120,000 + bonus. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Essential Duties:
- Consulting with leaders on people-related matters and providing policy guidance, interpretation, and solutions (e.g., includes working to improve work relationships, building morale, and increasing productivity and retention, etc.)
- Supporting newly partnered Hospitals by providing training and serving as a resource People Operations as needed.
- Be a chaperone of benefits administration by providing serving as a contact point for Operational Leaders, advocate for benefits innovations and resource during open enrollment.
- Provide the People team with strategic support and expertise in implementing organizational development goals.
- Evaluate and engage team members to uncover people-related themes, then make recommendations on strategies to improve the Team Member experience. This includes retention strategies, Engagement Survey and other measures to support Operations in building, retaining and engaging Teams.
- Support core people initiatives and guide Leaders through performance management, compensation reviews, employee engagement action planning, talent review, succession planning, training and workforce planning.
- Provide timely trusted guidance on complex employee relations issues and support managers through the performance management process. You will be responsible for providing assistance with coaching, progressive discipline, investigations, evaluations, and terminations.
- Demonstrate ability to partner effectively across functions of the organization.
- Serve as a key resource in the onboarding and integration of new employee partners to the organization.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Operational Leaders to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with Legal as needed/required.
- Provides policy guidance and interpretation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned such as Unemployment response support and other administrative tasks.
- Project management and ability to present information to large groups in-person and/or via virtual calls.

Desired Education & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced organization that is experiencing rapid growth.
- 8+ years progressively responsible HR roles including experience or exposure to areas such as talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, employee engagement, employee relations and benefit administration.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or business Administration.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or the ability and willingness to work toward this goal, preferred.
- Firm understanding of employment law in a multistate environment.
- Extensive experience supporting a decentralized team of managers and Team Members.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of your time.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an ambassador with the unique ability to deescalate employee conflict and reinforce a respectful work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Strong ability to effectively work individually or on a team.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent skills working with the following technology packages: ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
