You will expand Carta's distribution and market share by helping us deepen working relationships with key partners-and developing relationships with new ones. You will represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the Venture Capital & Private Equity ecosystem, helping us to drive VC and PE fund penetration.
You'll be joining our Business Development team. The Business Development Manager, Private Equity Partners will represent Carta in-market and advance the company's efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities for upmarket venture capital and private equity funds. The Business Development team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, helping to change practices, and creating more owners across a rapidly evolving industry.

You will expand Carta's distribution and market share by helping us deepen working relationships with key partners-and developing relationships with new ones. You will represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the Venture Capital & Private Equity ecosystem, helping us to drive VC and PE fund penetration.
- Create champions for Carta's fund administration products (fund formation, SPV formation, valuations, KYC / AML, and portfolio insights) for venture capital and private equity funds within the investment management ecosystem by partnering with, developing scalable strategies for, and engaging with partners that support upmarket venture capital and mid-market private equity funds
- These partners include consultants, placement agents, compliance firms, industry groups, investment platforms, wealth managers, among others
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, Engineering, Implementations, Support, Sales and Marketing to collect feedback from the industry, relay internally, and drive cross-functional conversations and roadmap for a strategy on deepening our mutual client penetration with preferred partners
- Develop and execute strategies to convert partners where Carta does not have deep relationships into preferred partners
- Coordinate and work alongside our Sales team to activate mutual books of business with partners
- Lead discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to our partners to drive new business to Carta
- Drive non-linear referral motions with these partners to reliably drive a 50%+ increase in referrals
- Create awareness of Carta's fund and investor tools for venture capital and private equity funds, including identifying and attending conferences and other industry events
- Represent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Carta's behalf (up to 25% travel)

Qualifications
- Significant knowledge of Venture Capital / Private Equity funds and the broader industry
- Strong familiarity with how partners support VC and PE funds
- Relevant network of contacts within the community, specifically encompassing upmarket VC funds, private equity funds, and the service providers that support them
- Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models
- Relevant Business Development / Partnerships or other industry experience
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience supporting back office functions at a venture capital or private equity fund
- Prior experience building relationships or servicing funds as an industry partner supporting upmarket VC and private equity clients
- Prior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners including investment funds, consultants, compliance providers, industry groups, investment platforms, wealth managers or other technology companies
- Understanding of fund formation, regulations that apply to funds, fund administration, fundraising, or valuation services
