• Partner with various departments and third-party tax service providers to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements in accordance with financial and tax reporting deadlines
• Assist in preparing supporting schedules for external auditors and responding to audit inquiries including financial schedules, analysis, or other disclosures

• Responsible for general ledger accounting, including sales & use tax calculation and accruals, unclaimed property, personal property, and other taxes
• Prepare and/or review federal, state and local income tax, sales & use tax, property tax, and unclaimed property reporting requirements and tax filings
• Work with federal, state and local tax auditors to provide information requests during tax audits
• Research and monitor tax issues, legislative changes, nexus thresholds and document conclusions
• Advise on indirect tax implications of business decisions and operations as well as researching and advising on potential tax savings opportunities
• Review of income tax provision and/or compliance workpapers in accordance with ASC 740 and related 10-K/10-Q tax disclosure requirements, including calculation of effective tax rate and the current and deferred tax

• Participate in the monthly financial close including preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis for tax accounts
• Analyze and report on balance sheet variances for actuals compared to prior year and income statement variance for actuals compared to budget/forecast and prior year for tax accounts

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Tax Manager and is part of the Accounting team, under the overall Finance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Level/Certifications
• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or actively pursuing
Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• 5-7 years of tax experience, including sales and use tax, income tax from (a) public accounting firm, or (b) corporate taxation, ideally, in a multi-state, multi-unit consumer-facing business
• Public company corporate multi-state tax environment experience
• Understanding of various Business Systems and/or processes (i.e., Avalara, Vertex, Oracle, etc.), a bonus
• Knowledge of partnership tax and/or Up-C structure, a bonus
• Knowledge of tax laws & regulations and research tools
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Proficient in Microsoft Excel formulas and functionality
• Adept at thinking critically by seeking information, critically evaluating information, applying knowledge, and solving problems
• Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
