Responsibilities

Staff Technical Program Manager - (employer: Sirius XM Radio Inc.; job location: Irving, TX) - Direct, manage, and deliver embedded client programs and lead complex projects with multiple dependencies across multiple technologies. Develop project and staffing plans and associated communications documents. Lead Agile software development team. Conduct team meetings (daily scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives). Manage Agile efforts (Sprints, Kanban efforts), monitor status/burndown, provide regular up-to-date status, and ensure team meets goals and deadlines. Communicate project expectations to team members, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders. Determine project trajectory based on tasks and resources, and ensure that product/business stakeholder goals are met. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants. Liaise with project stakeholders and lead development of high-quality presentations for executive briefings. Develop and track progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation for software and presentations. Determine technical dependences, and oversee joint integration testing and troubleshooting events. Gather information such as design documents, product requirements, wire frames that are required for project kickoff and execution and assist the team with technical review of artifacts involving C++ code and python scripts. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, plus five years of post-Bachelor's progressive experience in the position offered or in a technical manager role. All required experience must have included managing mid- to large-sized complex software integration and implementation projects in cross-functional environment; working as Scrum Master in running distributed, cross-functional, Agile scrum team of developers, testers and product owners; defining and applying Agile and Waterfall project management best practices; conducting research into project-related issues and products and making recommendations to mitigate; communicating status, risks and issues to project team and senior management; assisting the team with technical review of artifacts created during the development of embedded client programs; MS Office Suite (Word, Excel (including Macros), PowerPoint, and Access); working with software development tools JIRA and Rational Team Center (RTC); and working with requirements and test management software JAMA.
