The Risk Profile Reporting Director is a key leadership position within Northern Trust's enterprise risk management function, charged with the responsibility for driving consistent, quality reporting of the risk profile across legal entities, business units, and enterprise levels. As a key figure in the 2nd line of defense, this Director reports to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management and collaborates extensively with both the 1st and 2nd line teams. The core responsibilities encompass consistent, quality of risk profile reporting across the enterprise, with specific responsibilities for delivery of the reporting to the Global Enterprise Risk Committee (GERC) and the Business Risk Committee of the Board (BRC). This includes, but is not limited to, escalating significant incidents and issues. This role will also servs as the business owner of risk profile reporting, incident, and issue management capabilities, coordinating closely with Northern Trust's Technology and Data teams.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in enterprise risk management and particularly risk profile reporting up through board levels at a large-scale financial services organization, as well as a demonstrated ability to oversee such functions and effectively collaborate with senior stakeholders.

Major Duties
• Sustain and embed the Risk Profile Monitoring and Reporting Standard, as well as the Incident and Issue Management Policies, across lines of defense through training and adherence monitoring
• Drive consistency and quality of risk profile reporting across the enterprise, risk domains, business units, and legal entities, supporting aggregation of key information and providing periodic oversight
• Deliver crisp, actionable enterprise risk profile reporting to GERC and BRC
• Escalate risks, including (but not limited to), significant incidents and issues as appropriate up through legal entities, business units, risk domains, and ultimately up through GERC and the BRC
• Serve as the business owner of risk profile reporting, incident, and issue management capabilities, coordinating closely with Northern Trust's Technology and Data teams; and providing oversight of templates, tools and processes
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities and evolve the risk management framework to align with changing business and regulatory practices

Experience, Knowledge, Abilities
• 12+ years of direct risk management framework experience at a large-scale financial services organization preferred, including enterprise risk management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing, training, and delivering risk profile reporting, including synthesizing key messaging to executive and board-level stakeholders
• Proven capability in high-quality execution, including both independent execution, as well as influencing cross-functional stakeholders to drive change
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar Governance Risk and Compliance tool, preferred
• Experience overseeing financial and/or non-financial risks, including interpreting and adhering to associated prudential expectations
• Ability to accurately identify, escalate and drive actions to mitigate priority risks

Skills
• Successful candidate will possess the following key skills: strategic thinking, conceptual thinking, logical thinking, stakeholder management, project management, change management, digital literacy, and risk profile reporting
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communications to senior leaders and committees

Education
• BS/CA diploma in management or finance; An MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
