Banking, Lending & Trust Center of Excellence
Wells Fargo's Banking, Lending & Trust center of excellence is a client centric, channel-agnostic center of excellence designed to:

• Provide access to highly credentialed specialists for all WIM clients
through geographically dispersed but centrally managed teams

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of WIM Mortgage with full business management and leadership responsibilities for this strategic growth area

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute WIM's overall mortgage strategy including enhancing the client experience, supporting business growth, and providing risk oversight with measurable business outcomes and client benefits
  • Provide leadership to develop and implement strategic solutions and product results to ensure prudent credit decisions and a seamless mortgage experience for the WIM client, advisor and banker
  • Manage an organization that includes a WIM Mortgage Underwriting team of manager(s) and underwriters in roles with moderate to high credit complexity and risk, and a WIM product management team dedicated to executing mortgage programs and initiatives
  • Provide vision and direction for multiple high-impact priorities including strategic growth initiatives, high net worth and ultra-high net worth mortgage underwriting policies, client experience and segment pricing enhancements, and risk-related deliverables
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with WIM mortgages or who are affected by its outcomes, including the Home Lending and Risk teams
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk and control development within Wealth Mortgage functions and through collaboration with Home Lending
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for WIM Mortgage teams including ongoing leadership for domestic and offshore staff to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
  • Engage and influence WIM and Home Lending business leaders, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk.


Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience


Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of wealth mortgage product and/or business management and mortgage underwriting experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Wealth business leadership and mortgage underwriting experience in a large, complex financial organization strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability as a thought leader in mortgage strategy, underwriting, and business initiative execution for high net worth and ultra-high net worth segments
  • Strong background in credit risk and mortgage operations, and in effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams including finance, risk, legal, and compliance
  • Custom commercial and consumer credit experience


Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
