What is the Opportunity?
This role is part of Group Risk Management - U.S. Enterprise Risk Transformation, supporting oversight of Culture & Conduct and Reputation risk in RBC's Combined US Operations (CUSO), RBC's Intermediate Holding Company (RIHC) and branches within the U.S. This role will support development, maintenance and monitoring effectiveness of the Culture and Conduct Risks (CCR) and Reputation Risk Programs in the US, including the underpinning practices and methodologies. The role will also provide oversight and guidance to US lines of business (LoB)s and legal entities, coordinate with risk management functions in the US and Canada and assist in creating reporting for senior management and the Board.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

What is the Opportunity?

The role will also provide oversight and guidance to US lines of business (LoB)s and legal entities, coordinate with risk management functions in the US and Canada and assist in creating reporting for senior management and the Board.
What will you do?
- Provide oversight on 1LOD culture and conduct risks, and engage with businesses and functions groups in CUSO on associated action plans to remediate issues
- Prepare culture and conduct risk reporting for senior management and the Board Support continuous enhancement reporting on culture and conduct risks in CUSO, leveraging shared services
- Support enterprise Client, Product and Suitability Risk Center of Governance activities across the segments within CUSO
- Provide advice pertaining to changing U.S. regulatory expectations
- Support and provide oversight to responses to information requests by U.S. regulators, supervisors, and statutory bodies
- Contribute to preparation of board of directors materials on culture and conduct risk
- Coordinate with stakeholders at the Enterprise and LoBs to ensure organizational alignment on culture and conduct risk related issues
- Analyze and aggregate outputs and trends from Operational Risk Management program (e.g., Operational Risk Events, scenario analysis, risk register, Risk ID, etc.) and change initiatives to highlight any systemic culture and conduct risks issues and emerging risks for CUSO
- Support Reputation Risk Framework implementation activities within CUSO region, including escalations to enterprise governance as required
- Analyze and aggregate outputs and trends from Operational Risk Management program (e.g., Operational Risk Events, scenario analysis, risk register, Risk ID, etc.) and change initiatives to highlight potential reputational risk or issues for CUSO
- Consult with and educate business and function groups on reputation risk framework requirements, including the execution and enhancement of practices, understanding of outcomes and refinements needed to foster business-led ownership
What do you need to succeed?
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields
- 5+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.
- Knowledge of one or more key risk discipline (e.g., Enterprise, Market, Counterparty, Credit, Liquidity and Operational Risk)
- Experience with Reputation risk or Conduct risk oversight
- Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources and produce impactful reporting to senior audiences
- Experience developing processes and controls related to Heightened Standards or Reg YY will be prioritized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence and partner with multiple stakeholders at different levels of an organization
- Experience managing complex projects and initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields or Risk Management certification (e.g. FRM)
- Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory regimes across U.S.; including operational risk, non-financial transverse risks
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization
