The Insurance and Wealth Management Monitoring Administrative Department is part of the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office. It's responsibilities include carrying out strategic and operational mandates, and monitoring large-scale projects, primarily in the property and casualty, life and health insurance and wealth management sectors. As an internal auditor, you're responsible for helping plan the mandate, coordinating and carrying out work, and ensuring the quality of the work done. You present opinions to managers, senior management and members of audit committees on operational control to ensure sound risk management and on progress toward strategic objectives. You work on multidisciplinary teams and contribute to other mandates within the various teams of the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out internal auditing work in accordance with the annual plan
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's activities to independently examine governance and risk management processes. Make recommendations on the quality of activities, as applicable
  • Present results to the officers and managers responsible for audited activities
  • Monitor the implementation of action plans developed by managers in response to internal audit reports
  • Help develop the annual plan or any other initiative such as the development of new internal audit tools and approaches
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for your unit, audited sectors and senior management on specific topics
  • Represent your unit on various committees

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in administration, finance, accounting or a related field
  • A minimum of six years relevant experience in audit or risk management
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • CIA or CPA title
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
