Job Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Executive manages an assigned book of business, develops client relationships and delivers to grow and retain clients. Alongside the Producer, the Account Executive is responsible for overseeing management of assigned accounts including redundant interface with appropriate decision makers, proactive consultation, insurance program design, carrier interface/marketing, coordination of risk control resources, relevant collaboration with colleagues throughout HUB, and negotiation of coverage terms and conditions. The Account Executive will work with other members of the client service team, involving assigned individuals appropriately in service-related activities in support of clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Serves as the HUB's primary consultant to the client on assigned accounts. The Producer has primary responsibility for client relationship management and initiating new sales. The AE has primary responsibility for retaining the account, acting as the de facto technical expert and broker-consultant.
• Ensures Producers, when assigned, are fully informed about and prepared for all client meetings and interfaces so as to be able to competently and proactively manage the client relationship.
• Establishes and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with "C-Level" and other decision makers for assigned HUB clients.
• Obtains a detailed knowledge of the client's business and industry, articulates applicable exposures to loss, insurance coverages, and appropriate/available risk management/control solutions.
• Establishes and maintains strong and productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including a detailed familiarity with each carrier's products and services in support of assigned clients.
• Directly oversees and coordinates the delivery of all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle, including stewardship reports, delivery of risk control services, carrier meetings, claims reviews, preparation of coverage outlines, and marketing of emergent and renewal coverage requests.
• Alongside the Producer, if assigned, or primarily responsible for maintaining current receivable status for assigned clients. Proactive efforts to collect receivables more than 30 days past-due should be undertaken, with each unresolved circumstance documented and reported to accounting.
• Ensures that all client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered, either directly by the AE or via HUB colleagues (e.g. AMs, Small Business Unit, Risk Control,
The AE is accountable for the competence, timeliness, and quality of all deliverables to the client.
• Conducts annual review w/clients making coverage and loss control recommendations focused on reducing the clients' total cost of risk.
• Manages HUB Top 200 process.
• Identifies opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services when appropriate for the clients' needs. Documents other insurance products and services the clients are purchasing through other providers and who those providers are.
• Works cooperatively and professionally with Account Team colleagues to deliver HUB services, using the interface as an opportunity to teach, train, and mentor Account Team members.
• Utilizes various HUB and industry resources and tools that are available to best serve clients.
• Complies with HUB procedures and state/federal insurance regulations.
• Interfaces with HUB and carrier's claims teams to monitor and manage significant claims to resolution.
• Leads special projects for Producer and Account Team related to carrier program negotiation and development, including but not limited to gathering statistical data and industry specific coverage forms and analysis.

- Prepare and present claim reviews to clients on a periodic basis.
- Assist in Third Party Administrator (TPA) and insurance carrier selections.
- Ensures client questions / concerns are addressed by claims department or Third Party Administrator.
- Interact with clients by telephone and in person, on a periodic basis to deliver and gather information.
- Negotiates plans of actions and reserve reductions with insurers.
- Assist producers in conducting claim with clients and carriers.
- Analyze loss history to identify risk reduction strategies for producers. Attend sales presentations or renewal visits to present claims, programs for the reduction of risk, or loss information to insureds.
- Implement correction of errors of the carrier.
- Keep abreast of and apply a working knowledge of policy coverage in its application to property & casualty claims.
- Maintains accurate and organized claim files by appropriately documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives; updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems; ensures the accuracy of data.
- Seeks continued knowledge and stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients. Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to those changes; Attends industry related continuing education training and courses.
- Responsible for accessing and utilization of all claims related carrier on- line systems.
