Freese and Nichols, Inc.(FNI) is currently searching for a highly-motivated, passionate and experienced Stormwater Engineer to join our Central Texas Stormwater Group preferably in San Antonio, Texas, but open to Austin or Corpus Christi offices as well.

Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the production for H&H analysis and preparation of technical reports for diverse projects including open channels, closed conduit systems, drainage master planning and CIPs, detention/retention ponds, mitigation of drainage impacts, and regional flood planning.
- Support the management of small and large-sized projects, prepare and maintain project schedules, support tracking of project financials, prepare monthly status reports, and interface with clients.
- Candidate will work independently as well as oversee the work of teams of professionals and analysts.
- Candidate will have strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills and will provide direction and mentorship to junior staff.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in stormwater management
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to become licensed within 6 months
- Experience with a diverse range of software packages such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady, unsteady flow, and two-dimensional), ICM, ArcGIS Pro, and the Microsoft office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CFM Certification and/or experience in floodplain management practices
- Experience with the preparation of design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs for stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Experience with streambank stabilization, channel restoration, desilting, and natural stable channel design is a plus.
- Experience with development of FEMA flood studies, LOMRs and CLOMRs. Knowledge of FEMA RiskMap Program, Guidelines and Standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping, preliminary and post-preliminary processing, and the Mapping Information Platform (MIP)
