About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Trader to join our Stat-Arb Desk in New York City, where you will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies centered around scheduled and ad-hoc index rebalancing events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative finance, statistical analysis, and programming, with a keen interest in leveraging data-driven insights to drive trading decisions.

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $225,000. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered to employees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative finance, statistical analysis, and programming, with a keen interest in leveraging data-driven insights to drive trading decisions.
Responsibilities
- Predictive Modeling: Utilize quantitative techniques and statistical analysis to develop predictive models for index rebalancing events. This includes analyzing historical data, identifying patterns, and building algorithms to forecast changes in index components.
- Strategy Development: Design and implement trading strategies tailored to exploit opportunities arising from scheduled and ad-hoc rebalancing events. Develop systematic approaches to capture alpha and manage risk effectively.
- Market Research: Stay abreast of market changes impacting index constituents and rebalancing methodologies. Conduct in-depth research to understand the dynamics of various indices and their underlying components.
- Algorithmic Trading: Implement algorithmic trading systems to execute trading strategies in an efficient and automated manner. Optimize execution algorithms to minimize market impact and slippage.
- Risk Management: Monitor and manage risk exposure associated with trading activities. Implement risk controls and mitigation strategies to safeguard the firm's capital and optimize portfolio performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the trading desk to refine trading strategies, enhance analytical tools, and improve overall trading performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering; Advanced Degrees preferred
- Experience working on Index rebalance strategies - focusing on scheduled and corporate action-driven trades. Strong preference for candidates with relevant experience with a Program Trading Desk, Proprietary Trading firm or Hedge fund set up
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or C++ for data analysis, model development, and algorithmic trading
- Strong understanding of financial markets, index methodologies, and trading dynamics
- Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment and make informed decisions under pressure
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
