Summary:

The Accounts Receivable/Cash Department Manager is responsible for leading and planning the AR/Cash Department for a consolidated accounting office representing Hendrick Automotive Group. The individual is responsible for implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective processes for the department that comply with Hendrick Automotive Group standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists and trains new employees
  • Ensure all team tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Holds weekly meetings with team
  • Review all accounts receivable and cash management schedules to review with the Regional Controller
  • Verify related party receivable schedules are balanced
  • Work with dealership personnel to correct out-of-balance invoices
  • Ensure receivable statements are issued according to Hendrick Automotive Group Guidelines
  • Review and verify daily reports
  • Assist in end-of-month balancing of cash-clearing accounts
  • Assist sales tax compliance team as needed
  • Balance and close daily deposits
  • Scan all daily deposits through the UTA check scanner
  • Ensure cash clearing is balanced daily for all stores
  • Adjust service and parts tickets as needed
  • Maintain deposit files following Hendrick Automotive Group retention policy
  • Verify all monies received have been deposited on the same day
  • Maintaining assigned schedules and be prepared for management review
  • Make detailed and appropriate notes on assigned schedules
  • Maintains effective employee relations
  • Promotes and maintains good ESI

Education/Experience:

  • Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and dealership personnel
  • Strong organizational skills

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. 

Math Ability:

Proficient in required mathematical skills, including the ability to handle accounts payable.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal effectively with customers and dealership personnel.

Environment Demands:

Duties are performed primarily in the dealership office.  Work includes several hours a day analyzing financial records of the dealership, posting accounts, and performing other administrative tasks.  The office manager frequently interacts with other employees and members of management.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of computer systems and proficient keyboard skills.
