ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate to help commercial, state & local, and federal government clients implement and evolve their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability programs. This position will be based in our Reston, VA headquarters office in a hybrid work environment. Successful candidates will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs to drive energy efficiency and emissions reductions across commercial and industrial markets. They will be part of a team that builds and maintains relationships with key market actors, reviews and analyzes energy, water, waste, and emissions data, develops marketing material that recognizes market leadership, and collaborates with other team members and clients to develop national, regional, and local strategies to increase participation in energy and decarbonization programs.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$96,367.00 - $163,825.00

What you will be doing . . .
- Conducting independent engineering technical reviews of energy projects
- Conducting energy savings and economic analysis for commercial and industrial projects
- Assisting in developing and designing innovative energy programs
- Conducting market research and analysis of energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and decarbonization technologies, programs, and policies
- Preparing and presenting persuasive presentations
- Conducting remote desktop building system audits and assessments
- Co-authoring reports and other client deliverables, white papers, and marketing pieces
- Managing and supporting technical studies that evaluate energy impacts and benefits
- Preparing, reviewing, updating, and presenting technical reports
- Developing, updating, and maintaining plans, standard operating procedures, and other project documentation.
- Providing project support including technical assistance, analyzing scientific data, and quality-controlling work products and client deliverables.
What you need to have . . .
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Architectural, Electrical or Environmental Engineering)
- 12+ years of relevant energy and/or environmental engineering industry experience
Preferred Skills/Experience...
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Related professional credentials (e.g., PE, CEM, LEED).
- Experience with project management, business development, and/or client development
- Experience with Energy Management Systems (e.g., ISO 50001)
- Experience with state & local and/or federal commercial and industrial energy programs
- Experience with commercial energy-efficient applications
- Experience with energy modeling tools and platforms (e.g., OpenStudio, EnergyPlus)
- Experience with advanced programming and data analytics skills
- Knowledge of distributed onsite energy resources (e.g., renewables, energy storage)
- Knowledge of energy and climate policy and regulation
- Knowledge of building design and construction methods, building codes and standards, mechanical systems, and related energy use in construction. Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and technologies
- In-depth understanding of technical and economic valuation
- Knowledge of evaluation, measurement, and verification of energy efficiency
- Understanding of building science and building energy savings calculations
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., the suite of Microsoft applications)
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines
