About The Role
Rippling is growing exceptionally fast and we have a 750+ person engineering team that ships code to hundreds of thousands of customers. This role is for the Observability team that manages a variety of key systems like our unified metrics dashboards, Sentry, Datadog, OpsGenie and incident management tooling. It is a high-leverage and high-visibility role which will have a direct impact on Rippling's business metrics, engineering roadmaps, and site stability.

About The Role

What You'll Do
- Develop high-quality and reliable software using Python, Golang, and other relevant programming languages
- Design, build, ship tools that support observability
- Be an in-house domain expert for 700-plus engineers on observability and monitoring
- Build relationships with the engineering teams to understand their needs and help improve their day-to-day workflows
- Help evolve Rippling's architecture as we continue to scale
Qualifications
- 8+ years of proven experience as a backend or infrastructure engineer
Bonus Experience
- Monitoring & Alerting tooling (Datadog/Sentry/SumoLogic/Jaeger/OpsGenie/etc)
- Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)
- Infrastructure tooling: (Kubernetes/Terraform/LocalStack/Pulumi)
- Relevant languages: Python, Go
- Passion for improving infrastructure reliability and building scalable systems
