This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Lead Electronic Billing Specialist assists the Billing Managers with the coordination of day-to-day activities of Electronic Billing workflow within the Billing department. Essential job functions include:
  • Coordinate and audit electronic invoice submissions of the billing team.
  • Ensure all e-billing procedures are being followed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; escalate any potential service delivery issues to the manager.
  • Document and maintain e-billing vendor instructions and templates.
  • Responsible for generating and reviewing monthly reports surrounding e-billing items to administer deadlines and maintain data that may require continuous follow up.
  • Mentoring assigned Billing Specialists:
    • Guidance with electronic billing setups in 3E Matter Maintenance, eBillingHub, and third party electronic billing vendor websites
    • Assistance with resolving invoice rejections and reductions
  • Maintain electronic billing application; monitor outstanding and rejected electronically billed invoices:
      • Assist receivable team with appropriate reports and work with group to ensure timely response in resolution of short paid electronic invoices.
      • Responsible for assisting with new client electronic billing setups.
  • Client Billing. Assist with initiating and implementing of all aspects of the monthly client billing process including:
      • Maintain telephone and personal contact with clients, attorneys and staff on billing matters
      • Modify time and cost entries as directed
      • Compile necessary back-up documentation per client billing guidelines
      • Acquire and maintain proper approval documentation
      • Print/mail or electronically submit client invoices.
  • Utilize computerized accounting and billing software applications.
  • Maintain contact with attorneys, staff, and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.
  • Provide electronic billing education training as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend new process improvements.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Manage the day-to-day changes required to maintain accurate client information

Position Requirements
  • Associate's degree or combination of education and commensurate work experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience required, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of general accounting functions normally acquired through education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material.
  • Ability to perform effectively with moderate supervision and within established time limits and on-going deadlines.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Financial system applications proficiency required.
  • Elite 3E and eBillingHub experience preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

State of California: $60,000 - $114,000
State of Colorado: $55,000 - $98,000
Jersey City, NJ: $65,000 - $117,000
State of Massachusetts: $60,000 - $114,000
State of New York: $56,000 - $120,000
State of Washington: $58,000 - $110,000
Washington, D.C.: $77,000 - $113,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
