Overview
As the Director of Security, you oversee the organization's security department, and the subordinate security staff; and are assigned as the organizations Facility Security Officer (FSO), Insider Threat Program Security Officer (ITPSO), Chief Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), as well as back-up support to the Chief Contract Special Security Officer (CSSO). This position will serve as the subject matter expert on security risk identification and analysis; security operations; emergency and crisis response; works across the organization to build a culture of security awareness meeting mission objectives, and partnering with the Business Units, Information Technology and Human Resources departments.

Overview

This position will serve as the subject matter expert on security risk identification and analysis; security operations; emergency and crisis response; works across the organization to build a culture of security awareness meeting mission objectives, and partnering with the Business Units, Information Technology and Human Resources departments.
- Report to the Chief Executive Officer for SilverEdge Government Solutions.
- Management and oversee SilverEdge security posture at the enterprise level, and disseminate to the SilverEdge security members, to include assigned Special Consultants.
- Supervision of the SilverEdge CSSO staff, providing training, developing, mentoring and guiding staff growth as well as providing feedback through performance coaching, assisting as necessary to ensure staff are provided the resources necessary to grow. Participate in the hiring process to include creating requisitions, interviewing, and assisting with the hiring decision.
- Serve as the senior FSO for all GENSER information that fall under the purview of the National Industrial Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and CFR, in the protection of security-sensitive information, technology and activities provide section supervision of the staff members performing like functions manage risk to maintain an environment to protect GENSER and controlled unclassified information, at all levels.
- Serve as the senior CPSO for selected special access program (SAP) information that fall under the purview of the DoD requiring the protection of security-sensitive information, technology and activities provide section supervision of the staff members performing like functions manage risk to maintain an environment to protect DoD Top Secret, SAP level programs.
- Support the Chief CSSO and information that fall under the purview of the IC/DoD requiring the protection of security-sensitive information, technology and activities provide section supervision of the staff members performing like functions manage risk to maintain an environment to protect IC/DoD Top Secret, SCI level programs.
- Establish Insider Threat Program; based on the organization's size and operations, provide Insider Threat training for Insider Threat Program personnel and awareness for cleared employees, monitor classified network activity.
- Oversee Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Requirements; arrangements for exports of classified defense articles and technical data to ensure that exports are in compliance with the NISPOM.
- Administer and maintain policies to assure the safety of property, assets, and people in an organization.
- Recruit, train, and schedule security personnel to open requisitions with SilverEdge.
- Create disaster, crisis preparedness and/or emergency action plans.
- Provide subject matter expertise, technical thought leadership and strategic direction for all programs, GENSER, SCI and/or SAP, security group in areas of the resourcing, operations, infrastructure, sensitive compartmented information.
- Administer special security provisions in contracts/subcontracts; this includes but is not limited to DD2554 and teaming creation/execution.
- Review all incoming proposals and vet risk(s) regarding security requirements.
- Implement change management process, as issues are identified with the staff, and/or documented SilverEdge processes and procedures.
- Anticipate regulatory and compliance issues in order that issues can be resolved in a secure manner assist SilverEdge staff in interpreting, applying and complying with Security Classification Guides (SCG).
- Ensure that the DoD SAP, IC/DoD SCI infrastructure and GENSER, e.g. networks, systems, and facilities required by selected programs are compliant.
- Ensure information systems and networks comply with contract requirements by working closely with the assigned ISSM/ISSO, assist them with executing IA duties, and ensuring there are appropriate accreditations in place in order to accommodate the infrastructure, which includes Co-Use Agreements (CUA), Joint-Use Agreements (JUA), and/or appropriate MOUs/MOAs.
- Work through the challenges associated US Titles 10 & 50 authorities with regard to unique personnel security and secure facilities; and provide subject matter expertise to enable progressive innovation in S&T dynamic environments.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a security-related, managerial, or business discipline. A minimum of ten years professional-level experience in security disciplines may be substituted for degree.
- Possess ten or more years of professional security experience to include direct GENSER, DoD SAP and IC/DoD SCI experience working as a special security official or representative and thorough understanding of security principles and expertise in protecting GENSER, DoD SAP and IC/DoD SCI.
- Possess at least 8 years of management experience leading staff in solving complex problems, mentoring staff, developing future leaders and cultivating strong relationships/collaboration.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of advanced security principles information technology/ information assurance standards, government security regulations, including, but not limited to, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Community Directives, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Administrative Security Manual, Vols. I - III (DoDM 5105.21), Department of Defense Manual 5205.07 Vol 1-4/5205.77 Vol 1-4, Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).
- Possess the ability to develop and execute security policies and plans within a risk management framework.
- Possess excellent organizational/communications skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels, sponsors, prospective customers and members of external organizations.
- Possess strong leadership, organization, planning and communications skills.
- Hold an active Top Secret security clearance, have a valid counterintelligence polygraph, and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance.
- If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. You may be required to complete a full-scope polygraph.
- Active member of security professional organization (ie. NCMS, ISWG, CSSWG, etc.).
