YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Data Governance Security Analyst opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The primary focus of this position is to establish and implement policies, standards, and procedures as part of a data governance program to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive organizational data. This includes performing the ongoing management and support of a data classification and labeling solution, along with protecting organizational data from theft, loss, or unauthorized disclosure.

This critical role will regularly interact with internal data governance stakeholders including business and technology personnel to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, along with establishing data governance best practices across the organization. Strong skills in analytical thinking, critical thinking, time management, communication/collaboration, and process oriented with a detailed understanding of data governance principles are required for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for managing and ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (owners and custodians) to define data governance goals, objectives, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program.
  • Provide strategic guidance to IT and Business Leadership on data management and governance matters.
  • Manage the vendor relationship and provide day-to-day support for the data classification and labeling solution.
  • Review identified results of data discovery and classification efforts and partner with data owners to identify next steps to address findings.
  • Facilitate regular data stewardship meetings and workshops to educate stakeholders, address data governance-related concerns, and provide updates.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on data governance principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of data governance awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and trends related to data classification, retention, and data loss prevention.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential data risks and ensure data integrity.
  • Drive further evolution in the data governance program to harden additional controls, configurations, and solutions related to data loss prevention.
  • Implement data security policies and establish compliance processes to protect data from unauthorized access, use, and cyber threats.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
  • Detailed understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Highly organized with an analytical mindset and attention to detail for evaluating and improving data quality and governance processes.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Management, Cybersecurity, or other equivalent experience.
  • Hands on experience working with an automated data discovery and classification solution (e.g., Concentric AI, Varonis, Microsoft Purview, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., US Data Privacy Laws, GDPR) and their impact on data governance practices.
  • Certifications related to data governance and data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, CIPP).


SCHEDULE :

  • Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
