Leidos Defense Systems, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer candidate to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location. We have offices across the United States that provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. Primary Responsibilities:

As an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical system designs; you will analyze, design, and integrate solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges.

Initial responsibilities will include:
  • Development of Interface Control Documents.
  • Development of National Instruments PXI based hardware specifications and drawings.
  • Development of a signal conversion cabinet.
  • Identify hardware modifications to existing power electronic component that improve modeled system performance characteristics.

Responsibilities will expand\change over time as the employee demonstrates their abilities and expresses interest in new types of work.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with 4+ years of experience or 2+ years with MS degree.
  • Experience in reviewing and developing documentation such as: Specifications, Interface Control Documents,
  • Design Documents, Connection Diagrams, and Circuit Diagrams.
  • Must have proven experience in hardware design and test from architecture through implementation
  • Must have proven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components.
  • Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference shown to candidates willing to travel to Tullahoma, Tennessee as needed.
  • Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • Preference shown to candidates who already hold a SECRET clearance.
  • Experience in designing and fabricating power electronic hardware.
  • Preference shown to candidates with embedded controls experience.
  • Preference shown to candidates who have experience in trade studies and development of white papers.
  • Preference shown to candidates with DoD experience.

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
