**This position is accepting Scheduling Specialist applications for all of the Primary Care clinics across Birmingham, Al. The locations include, Brook Highland, Cahaba Heights, Chelsea, Columbiana, Greystone, Lee Branch, Liberty Park, Gardendale, Helena, Hoover/Trace Crossings, Homewood, 280, Pelham, Springville, Trussville and Vestavia**
RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments as necessary. Provides information regarding inquiries in a professional, friendly manner. Addresses patients’ questions and concerns quickly and courteouslyOperates the multi-line telephone system to answer, screen and transfer calls in a high-volume phone environmentTakes detailed messages and directs calls and messages to the appropriate recipientsEffectively communicates with patients, physicians and other staff both within the practice and at outside facilities, providing timely, accurate, and responsive informationEnsures efficient telephone communicationChecks voicemails and returns patient calls within 24 hoursEnsures proper information is documented correctly within patient chartsPerforms other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalentPrior experience with customer service and multi-line phone, preferredOne-year medical experience in a physician’s office, preferredSKILLS
Excellent oral and written communication skillsFamiliarity with Medical Terminology and Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to identify problems and seek appropriate guidanceAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situationsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical providers, coworkers and publicBasic computer skills
