Job SummaryThe Assistant Store Manager at United Legwear & Apparel Company plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager at the Ted Baker - Bloomingdales Concession shops in the overall operation of the store. This position is responsible for driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing daily operations. The Assistant Store Manager leads by example, fostering a positive work environment, motivating the team, and ensuring that company standards are consistently met. This role involves overseeing staff, managing inventory, and ensuring that all operational processes are followed efficiently. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for retail, and a commitment to excellence.

Essential Functions (including but not limited to):People

Work in partnership with the Store Manager to drive excellence within the location.Work with integrity and respect for others; promoting excellent team participation and ensuring the team and location are presented to the highest standards.Take ownership of your personal learning to enhance your development, positively impacting on that of the team and location.Be responsible for consistent training and standards. Deliver other company trainings to ensure the team are up to date and knowledgeable.Be proactive in developing and coaching others and have a flexible but consistent approach to differing people and situations.Execute consistent training and standards. Support the delivery of all Company trainings to ensure the team are up to date and knowledgeable.Confidently provide feedback on team performance to the Store Manager, District Manager and HR Team when required.Display high levels of personal motivation and use effective incentives to inspire and drive the team.Support the Store Manager to identify and resolve recruitment needs, through effective succession planning and networking.Support the Store Manager with the onboarding of new hires and new to position team members.Develop strategic partnerships and maintain productive relationships with host store partners.Product

Use all available tools and information to keep up to date on current product and be proficient in product details such as Called, Color, Composition, Cost, Care, Cut (The 6 Cs).Display up to date product knowledge such as, key trends and location bestsellers to educate team members on how to maximize sales and increase customer loyalty to the brand.Responsible for communicating and ensuring implementation of merchandising guidelines, replenishment procedures and housekeeping standards to ensure that Ted is always represented at the highest level.Partner with the Store Manager to communicate store product needs, influencing action to enhance performance.Commercial

Be responsible for maximizing sales potential and ensuring the team are expertly delivering Ted's trainings.Be responsible for ensuring the team are demonstrating Greet, Observe, Talk, Fit, Assist, Thank, (GOTFAT) with enthusiasm and consistency, understanding the impact of actions on the customer experience and sales.Partner with the Store Manager to deliver and effective sales environment through a strong understanding of local and customer profiles and shopping behaviors.Responsible for driving the team to achieve the location's performance plans and KPIs.Assist with managing the controllable elements of the store's profit and loss budgets.Coach team members to deliver an effective and natural approach to sales, aligned with our brand.Support the location's B-connected performance, promoting the use of database building and clienteling results.Support marketing opportunities within the brand guidelines and drive the success of all brand promotions.Build and maintain a strong commercial awareness of our competitors and local markets communicating findings to the Store Manager.Analyze relevant tools to convey a high level of commercial understanding, identifying opportunities to positively affect location performance.Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of location actuals, plans and KPIs.Operations

Demonstrate excellent awareness and time management of all communications and directives.Appropriately delegate tasks ensuring they are completed on time and in line with company policy and procedures.Responsible for supporting team knowledge of company health and safety procedures. Use equipment properly and immediately report any potentially unsafe conditions.Responsible for supporting team knowledge and implementation of all loss prevention measures and protecting the assets of the company by immediately reporting any misuse or theft of Company property to the Manager/District Manager.Accountable for accurate cash handling and banking procedures highlighting and resolving discrepancies as a matter of priority as outlined by your host store.Deliver all daily operations in line with the brand's operating policies and proceduresQualifications/Requirements:

Experience as a Department Manager/Floor Manager or in a similar role within the retail industry, preferably in fashion.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Ability to analyze sales data and develop effective strategies.Knowledge of visual merchandising and inventory management.Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:The physical demands and working conditions outlined below are representative of those required for this role to effectively perform the essential job functions. In this role employees are regularly expected to walk and stand for extended periods, frequently use their hands for tasks involving handling, feeling, pushing, and reaching for company products, type and manipulate electronic systems, and engage in regular communication with customers, staff, and third parties, including speaking and listening activity. This role can also include stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as necessary. The ability to lift, pull, push and/or move up to 40 pounds is required. Vision abilities for close and distance viewing related to electronic systems and/or physical products are also required. Working conditions may involve dynamic changes in pace and activity level, necessitating flexibility and promptness to perform tasks in various physical positions.

This is an onsite position at our Ted Baker, Bridgewater, NJ - Bloomingdales location.
