tip sheet .Job DescriptionAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse - Walgreens - Per DiemDay ShiftThe University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem APRN for the UHealth Clinic at Walgreens covering 12 locations across South Florida. The APRN is responsible for assessing physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. This includes performing medical procedures, up to and including blood drawing, vital signs and nursing assessments, history and physical.The APRN recognizes deviations from normal in the physical assessment and works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up. Responsibilities include:Writing prescriptions for medication and blood products based upon laboratory results.Initiating and facilitating clinical research protocols and coordinating patient care with research staff.Obtaining complete medical history independent of supervision by the physician.Ordering appropriate laboratory tests according to practice guidelines.Developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care that is appropriate for the patient and family.Actively participating in quality assurance programs and peer review activities.Providing assistance to physicians in the care and treatment of patients.Administering nursing assessments to include performing examinations, giving injections, and assessing a patient's health status.Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health regulations.Performing in a tactful and professional manner.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by groundbreaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.Patient safety is a top priority.
