Responsibilities:

Campaign and Program Management:

Lead and oversee end-to-end campaign and program planning and execution, ensuring the successful execution of an omnichannel strategy to support acquisition and retention growth. Leverage creative, experiential marketing, paid and digital advertising, PR, and social media channels to effectively reach and engage new target audiences and monetize existing customers to grow sales.

Manage large activations, including store openings, ensuring seamless execution and maximum impact.

Brand and community partnerships:

Establish and nurture strategic brand and community partnerships to enhance brand presence.

Collaborate with partners on joint marketing initiatives and events.

Brand management:

Oversee brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials.

Develop and implement brand guidelines and strategies to enhance brand identity.

Ownership of marketing channels:

Experience leading, managing and optimizing all marketing channels, including digital, social media, direct marketing (e.g., email and SMS) and traditional media.

Develop and execute channel-specific strategies to drive engagement and conversion

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with internal teams, including retail, product development, creative & design, and operations.

Align key strategies and ensure seamless execution across channels.

Agency and vendor management:

Coordinate with digital advertising and performance marketing agencies.

Ensure all contractors deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.

Performance Tracking and Analysis:

Track and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and refine the effectiveness of go-to-market strategies across different channels.

Regularly analyze and report on performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.

Budget management:

Track and manage marketing spend across campaigns and programs. Ensure all expenses are accurately recorded and reported.

With the CMO’s oversight, optimize budget allocation to maximize ROI.

Compliance and Regulations:

Stay informed about the evolving regulations and compliance requirements within the cannabis industry.

Ensure all marketing and sales activities adhere to legal and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience is required.

Strength in Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a marketing role within cannabis industry.

Deep knowledge and understanding of the unique dynamics, regulatory requirements and challenges of cannabis are essential.

Proficient in using tools like AIQ, Weedmaps, Leafly, Dutchie, Google Analytics and others to pull, consolidate and analyze data to inform performance, make improvements and grow the business.

Proficient in using Excel or Google Sheets.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write customer-facing copy for various marketing channels.

Working knowledge of design tools for light editing and modifications to existing designs, like Canva.

Location, Schedule and Salary:

Location: Rockville, MD (with some travel to Baltimore, MD)

Start date: Immediately

Annual salary: $90-$100K

Flexible Schedule: The role provides a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend commitments required.
