Job Overview : A prominent law firm is seeking a qualified Litigation Services Counsel to manage the activities of the Los Angeles Docket department. The candidate will be responsible for docketing, calendaring, and electronic case management. This position also involves providing litigation support to attorneys, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with court rules and risk management guidelines.Location :Duties :Supervise and manage the Los Angeles Docket staff and services.Oversee calendaring, docketing, and data accuracy in the docketing system.Ensure legal documents meet filing requirements and court rules.Assist attorneys with complex litigation and case management.Provide training to associates and staff on litigation procedures and docketing systems.Communicate court rule changes and updates to the legal team.Conduct research on case law and procedural matters.Supervise automated court rule sets and monitor electronic court filings.Approve client chargebacks and manage vendor invoices.Participate in cross-office meetings, project implementations, and docketing system enhancements.Attend and represent the firm at meetings related to docket procedures and professional organizations.Maintain records of staff attendance and ensure compliance with firm policies.Provide backup support to the Docket department when necessary.Requirements :Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and California Bar admission.4+ years of litigation experience.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules.Experience with Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF).Managerial experience in a law firm's docket department preferred.Education :Juris Doctorate (J.D.) required.Must be fully licensed to practice in California.Certifications :Admission to the California State Bar.Skills :Proficiency in docketing applications (e.g., CourtAlert, CompuLaw), PACER, and MS Office suite.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage staff and communicate with various stakeholders.Organizational skills with a focus on data accuracy and record-keeping.Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to train and mentor staff on litigation processes and systems.
