POSITION SUMMARYThe Product Development teams are focused on rapidly developing the next generation of percutaneously implanted cardiac pumps, both for acute and long term patient support. Our team is leading or engaging in the development of the entire system including:
Pump/catheter/motor
Access and repositioning sheaths
On-board sensors / intelligence
Electro-mechanical console, UI, and System performance
Clinical best practices, training, and pump management techniques
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The student will:
Assist in the design of components/fixtures
Conduct engineering tests for design improvement
Provide input into process development and improvement
Conduct failure analyses under mentorship of senior engineering staff
Analyze data and present results to larger Engineering team
QUALIFICATIONSREQUIREMENTS:
Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in mechanical, biomedical engineering, or directly related discipline
Strong design, testing, and analytical skills required (e.g. engineering and statistical analysis)
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of SolidWorks preferred
Experience with machining and/or 3D printing is a plus
Basic hardware experience with embedded systems
Electrical experience fabricating prototypes/breadboards/PCBs is a plus
