Affordable Housing Inspector
Affordable Housing InspectorLocation : Amber Woods - Indianapolis, Indiana
Primary Responsibilities
Performs regular and comprehensive inspections of multifamily affordable housing units, including apartments, common areas, and building exteriors, to ensure they meet safety, health, and building code standards.Prepares detailed reports on inspection findings, including identifying violations, maintenance issues, and areas needing improvement. Provide clear, actionable recommendations for repairs or improvements.Ensures that all properties comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including HUD standards, building codes, and fair housing laws.Collaborates with property managers and maintenance teams to address and resolve identified issues. Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.Addresses concerns and complaints from residents regarding property conditions and safety. Provide clear explanations and updates on inspection findings and resolutions.Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and follow-up actions. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements.Offers guidance and training to property management staff on inspection standards and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and property upkeep.Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years of experience in housing inspection, property management, or a related field, with a focus on multifamily affordable housing preferred.Relevant certifications (e.g., Housing Quality Standards (HQS), International Code Council (ICC) certifications) are highly desirable.Benefits Package
