GSEWNI (Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho) is a non-profit organization. The GSEWNI council serves an area comprised of 19 counties in Central and Eastern Washington, and 10 counties in Northern Idaho for a total of 29 counties covering 67,000 square miles. The council is headquartered in Spokane, Washington and has regional program staff located in the Tri-Cities, Spokane and Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. GSEWNI serves approximately 4,000 girls in kindergarten through 12th grade with the help of 2,000 dedicated adult volunteers. Girls are at the center of everything we do as a council. Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls, the leading authority on girls' healthy development and we are working daily with girls and women to transform the leadership landscape for girls into the next century.POSITION SUMMARY:

Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade, and our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. At Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, we're committed to providing every girl the chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience includes programming in four pillars, Life-Skills, Entrepreneurship, Outdoors, and STEM. As a member of the Program Team, the Program Specialist will design and deliver programs and events for girls which provide a high-quality experience in the four pillars of the Girl Leadership Experience. This person will need to be a self-starter, have experience working with youth, and be willing to travel within the boundaries of our council. Previous experience in Girl Scouting desired. Previous experience working in youth programs highly desired.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:Design, deliver, and evaluate year-round programs on GSEWNI and public properties (ex: State Parks, community centers, and Girl Scout program center) that are based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.Develops and oversees long range program growth and uses plan for the program department that includes innovation in all aspects of programming.Recognizes the important traditions of Girl ScoutsDevelops programs that support the overall strategy of the council.May help to develop and implement resources and trainings for certifications such as lifeguard, canoe, paddle sports, archery, and challenge course. .Assists in the development and administration of assigned program budgets; goals, objectives and action steps.Performs project evaluations which will include; measured outcomes and identifies aspects of program activities that need to be improved, identifies aspects of program activities that should be maintained; prepares reports or presentations to communicate the result of the evaluation; identifies the need to modify projects and activities given changing goals or conditions.Recruit, train, manage and retain high performing program volunteers.Assist in the development of the year round program guide, evaluating current content and forms, and suggesting changes as necessary.Build and cultivate relationships with community partners and volunteers.Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations, health and building codes, OSHA guidelines, GSUSA safety guidelines, and ACA site standards.Assists in supporting the Adult Education Committee to train volunteers to lead the various programs including Outdoor and STEM.Actively support and promote GSEWNI's commitment to excellent customer service, membership growth, community visibility, fundraising diversity and safety.Perform other duties as assigned.May be a hybrid work schedule (work from home and occasionally from the office if residing in North Idaho. Otherwise, primary work will be done from Spokane office.TRAVEL:

Travel required for this position. Vehicle provided. Travel = 65%

Travel will be

required

on a regular basis; including nights, weekends and holidays to ensure quality program delivery throughout the 29-county area and/or conferences and conventions as approved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Demonstrated two years' experience in supervision of youth programs preferably in a non-profit or membership-based agency; or combinations of education and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.Bachelor's degree preferred with outdoor/education or STEM focus preferred but not required.Prior experience in program design and development, program evaluation, people management, marketing, community relations, or other relevant are preferred.Prior experience in camping, outdoor cooking and outdoor skills (ex: knots, navigation, shelter building).Supervisory experience leading a professional team preferredFirst Aid/CPR certification required (willingness to obtain)Wilderness First Aid certification preferred (willingness to obtain)Ropes Course certification preferred (willingness to obtain)Archery Instructor certification preferred (willingness to obtain)Must be 21+ years of age, possess a valid Driver's License and be insurable. Reliable transportation required.Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish languages preferredMust be experienced in the use of computers, including word processing, Outlook, spreadsheets, and the internet. Must be able to compile information and develop related reports, using council software.Willingness to subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout movement, including acceptance of the Girl Scout philosophy and willingness to maintain membership in the Girl Scouts USA.WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
