Equipment and installations will be inspected for detailed compliance with contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable local and national electric codes.Responsibilities:Performs inspections of new and existing wiring and electrical installations for conformance with safety and other requirementsChecks plans and specifications to see that electrical work complies with codes and regulations and recommends methods for improvementsPrepares reports for project managersAttends monthly project progress meetingsAbility to read and interpret plans and specs and prepare written work reports, special inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.Monitoring contractors work and ensuring it is as per the plans and specificationsOversee various electrical work including transformers, switchgear, panelboards, electrical substation, fiber optic communication infrastructure systems, high tension and other electrical workAssisting Office Engineer and Resident Engineer as neededQualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience performing electrical construction inspections.OSHA 30-hour certificateExperience working for public infrastructure projects in the New York City Metropolitan area including for MTA-TBTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and PANYNJ is a plusBachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
