DescriptionThe individual will work in conjunction with the Capital Markets team focusing on new syndication efforts which includes creating marketing materials, working on legal grids, tracking syndication progress, and diligence information distribution. The individual will also assist with origination and sourcing new deal opportunities, evaluating, structuring and executing senior debt transactions, for both buy-side and sell-side opportunities as well as serve as a key market intelligence source for the team.Monroe is seeking someone with a good understanding of leveraged finance transactions and market deal terms (leveraged finance or capital markets structuring experience) with a great working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, in addition to an awareness of market metrics, terms and information resources.RequirementsSyndications:Work with deal team to create syndication marketing materials and due diligence packagesSupport Capital Markets with deal execution as one of the primary points of contact, as well as communicating with deal team members and clients that include corporate executives, private equity clients, and bank investorsCollect market feedback by vetting proposed transactions with prospective lendersIn conjunction with underwriters, work with legal counsel regarding the preparation of documentation for syndicated loans, including credit agreementsTogether with Capital Markets team members, act as point of contact for the market on any deal syndications regarding diligence, deal syndication, execution, and closingManage deal datasites and bank group administration for a subset of agented dealsLegalLead/assist with legal grid and commitment letter negotiation for new transactionsProcess and facilitate non-disclosure and confidentiality agreementsMarket Intelligence:Maintain general awareness and knowledge of up-to-date market information (transactions, changes in transactions, key terms, and key players)Lead/assist in creating weekly, monthly, and quarterly Capital Markets internal updatesMaintain new loan issuance databasesOrigination/Sourcing:Key point of contact for the market on buy-side investment opportunities with the ability to immediately assess a given transaction, identify key attributes and detractors and effectively communicate the investment opportunity to key internal and external constituentsStructuring:Support Capital Markets team as point of contact for the credit committee approval process, including due diligence, comparable transactions, structural/credit documentation analysis, and syndication analysis to help determine suitable and marketable deal capital structureWork with originations/underwriting teams to review and draft indicative term sheets and deal proposalsOther:Open to being a utility player to assist in the growth and development of the growing platformStrong team player with willingness to pitch in where necessaryRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree and ideally 5-10 years in a leveraged finance/ underwriting/ capital markets positionStrong credit and corporate finance skillsExperience generating marketing materialsFamiliarity with middle market and solid understanding of overall leveraged loan marketHighly motivated with ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasksAbility/comfort interacting directly with lenders and financial sponsors, professional advisors
