You will be building customer-facing products that will drive direct business impact and shape our long-term technical vision with a high-quality bar. You will have the opportunity to learn and push the frontier of providing the best financial software experience to help companies grow. You will be encouraged to be metric and data-driven and to think creatively to help Brex scale and prepare for the new markets we are about to enter.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build strong, resilient, and robust APIs, libraries, and tools to power Brex engineers and operationsOwn functionality and scalability features by taking responsibility from inception to deploymentBe responsible for full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, and operating in productionUphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes you will encounterRequirements3+ years of experience working as a software engineerExperience creating libraries and tools for engineers and operationsExperience building and designing scalable backend systemsExperience working with SQL or NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with software engineering development cyclesExperience working with backend programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python)Ability to hold yourself and the team to high standardsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsEnglish proficiency/fluency, both written and speaking (note: interviews will be conducted in English)Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and ThursdayBonus pointsExperience collaborating with experts in product, design, and operationsFamiliarity with functional programming languagesStrong writing skillsProactive approachThe expected salary range for this role is $152,000 - $190,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
