We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a background in cellular and developmental biology, epithelial biology, or neurobiology to undertake research investigating the regulation of intestinal epithelial cell development and epithelial-neuronal connectivity. The work will be undertaken in the laboratory of James Bayrer at the Mission Bay campus of UCSF.The Bayrer Lab (bayrerlab.ucsf.edu) seeks to define the molecular mechanisms regulating intestinal homeostasis and repair, and how these may be leveraged to improve human disease. We are particularly interested in understanding how the gut senses and responds to its environment and how these signals may be altered in intestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or M.D., or be near completion of their degree, in a relevant subject area. The applicant should have relevant research experience in cellular and molecular biology and have a proven research track record. The applicant should also be highly motivated with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with a dynamic team. Preferred skills would be prior experience with animal models, imaging technology, and experience with molecular biology.How to Apply
