No more than 12 hours per week.Duties/Requirements:The Protestant Music Director Shall:
Coordinate and provide Protestant Sunday Service music.Direct choir practiceSubmit proposed plan for Sunday services and special music to Protestant Chaplain to provide musical presentations at each worship service, in the form of Prelude, Offertory, Recessional, etc.Provide a choir rehearsal 30 Minutes prior to each 1100 Sunday service.provide and coordinate all programming with the assigned Protestant chaplain, and will schedule music using the church calendar, i.e., Advent, Lent, Easter, Pentecost.provide musical accompaniment during Sunday services and congregational singing. Also provide prelude, postlude/recessional, choir or music team selections, and hymns during the regular worship on Sundays and other such services as may be scheduled by the on-site Protestant Chaplain to include up to six (6) special occasion services, such as:
Ash Wednesday
Good Friday
Easter Vigil/Easter Sunrise
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Memorial Services (4 per year)Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in music or church music; an acceptable equivalent of such a degree would be at least three years of experience in playing for Protestant worship services.Experience directing choral music.Experience playing organ/piano/electric keyboard for a variety of church hymns, and contemporary music as found in the prescribed Protestant worship aides.
