Apply today!Job Description:WHAT YOU'LL DOPerforming duties to prepare railcars for shipment such as: opening and closing railcar doors, setting bridge plates, onboard survey of vehicles, inventory control and damage reporting, chocking vehicles/ chock replacement into chock pans prior to door closing, etc.Completion of required WWS and/or customer formsPerforming daily inspections on bridge plates and chocksPerforming light maintenance on Railroad EquipmentLoading and unloading railcars in compliance with company Safety and Quality standardsEnsure vehicles are spotted according to customer standards within the rail carEnsure vehicles are properly spaced within the rail and secure vehicles according to customer standards onto outbound railcarsYard scanningTrash, snow, and ice removal as needed
Job Requirements:WHAT YOU'LL NEEDRequires the ability to raise floating railcar decks, from shoulder position to overhead position (minimum 80 lbs. up to 100 lbs. and set bridge plates overhead (up to 45 lbs.) for long periods of timeThis position requires continuous and extensive walking, frequent kneeling, bending, and stooping while inside rail cars, working with and around moving mechanical parts, and good balanceMust wear/use all issued safety equipment and gearComplete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn distribution processesComplete understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, customer requirements concerning vehicle condition and reportingHave a valid drivers license and good driving recordAbility to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissionABOUT US:Wallenius Wilhelmsen is an iconic shipping and logistics company with premium end-to-end supply chain management.
