Today’s thriving companies realize the necessity of managing business risk. As a Consultant on the IT Audit team, you will help clients identify and manage that risk and improve IT processes and controls. Key services performed by the IT Audit team include: System Organization Control (SOC) 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 attestation engagements and IT controls design and operating effectiveness assessments for financial audits.You will gain valuable experience and use your critical thinking abilities to help clients solve problems and apply your social skills to build rewarding business relationships. At Forvis Mazars, you will remain informed on the latest information technology trends and emerging risks that impact our clients. Alongside Forvis Mazars senior staff and management personnel, you will work with clients in a variety of industries as you develop your technical skills and strengthen the foundation on which you will build your career.How you will contribute:Demonstrating an understanding of IT controls associated with applications, databases, operating systems, networks, and reporting toolsPerforming IT general control audit procedures including walkthroughs and testing of IT general controls for areas such as change management, logical security, computer operations, cybersecurity, etc.Working with client personnel to gain an understanding of IT processes and controls, obtain audit evidence, and analyze testing resultsHelping to draft management letter comments and the audit reportParticipating in client meetings alongside FORVIS partners and managersProviding a variety of non-assurance services to our clients including, but not limited to internal audit consulting, IT risk assessments, IT compliance reviews, cybersecurity assessments, technology consulting, threat and vulnerability testing, social engineering, business continuity planning, etc.Delivering Forvis Mazars’ commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clientsWe are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:Effective time managementStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well with a team as well as independentlyProblem-solving attitudeWillingness to take initiativeAbility to work under pressure and against deadlinesSolid technical accounting and IT knowledgeMinimum Qualifications:A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, information systems, computer science or related disciplineProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to travel to client locations up to 20%Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience or internships in a public accounting firm performing IT audit or IT consulting workEligibility to sit for the CPA exam or have CPA certificationEligibility to sit for the CISA exam or have CISA certificationGPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
