We at Micron Technology are seeking a Principal Engineer, NVM Program and Equipment Development. This position will be based in Boise, ID R&D fab.As a Principal Engineer for NVM Program and Equipment Development in Micron’s Technology Development (TD) team, you will collaborate with the leadership team to deliver solutions and strategies that enable Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) programs, transfer to manufacturing and drive Equipment development initiatives (EMI, Productivity, Supplier Metrics) for both NAND and DRAM.You will be in an Individual Contributor (IC) role with no direct reports; however, you will play a key role in establishing and managing programs to define and meet program timelines, capital expenditure budget, and node-over-node cost per gigabit (CpGB) reduction targets meeting business requirements.Additionally, you will drive Equipment Maturity Index (EMI) of first of a kind (FOAK) workstations for both NAND and DRAM, work with the Equipment Development Engineering (EDE) team to develop FOAK productivity targets (SDU, MA, MU) and continuously improve related business processes.Responsibilities:NVM Model-of-Record (MOR) Ownership:

Regular interaction with PD/PI team for MOR Updates from Program Kickoff (PK) through Engineering Full Flow Transfer (EFF) in close collaboration with TD Industrial Engineering (IE) Modeling Team.Lead node team using Contingency List (CL) and MOR Business Processes, manage MOR changes through Engineering Change Notice (ECN) cycles.POR-MOR Gap tracking and closure:

Support Transfer from TD to HVM with clear understanding of POR-MOR Gaps and ensure effective mitigations are in place for transfer and ramp while driving POR/Baseline process towards MOR compliance.

Cost-of Transition (CoT) - project determination & prioritization.Planning of MOR and CapEx budget, what is needed to execute results, and ownership/accountability of budget performance.Drive readiness for MFG pilot line via OCT/Mfg engagement, workshops, and other reporting.Engage with other Program Managers for node-node MOR alignment.

FOAK Equipment Maturity, Productivity Ownership:

Engagement with Equipment Development Engineering (EDE) team to define FOAK tiering levels for NAND and DRAM nodes.Setup regular meetings to review EMI progression and ensure compliance with glidepaths.Publish progress to NAND and DRAM executives worldwide and seek inputs on further enhancements of business processes.Highlight key asks from Equipment suppliers based on feedback and summarize for QBR (Quarterly Business Reviews) for resolution.Develop Supplier Dependent Uptime (SDU), Manufacturing Availability (MA), and Manufacturing Utilization (MU) targets for FOAK equipment and incorporate into MOR.Work with worldwide teams (OCT and Mfg) to assess productivity improvements on legacy equipment and applicability to FOAK equipment being developed on next NAND and DRAM nodes.

Communication/Collaboration:Proactively seek ideas from others and provide feedback on complex tasks, concepts, and theories to enable key program strategic objectives.Provide a high level of service with strong customer focus and build effective relationships with supported teams and peers.Work with NVM Process and Equipment leadership teams to consolidate a wide spectrum of data into concise presentations for internal and external consumption.Proactively define and publish schedules, templates and other guides to help meeting and general team effectiveness.Project Management/Planning:Ensure effective rollout and adoption of projects/programs with proactive communication to all stakeholders.Apply project management principles to deliver results that satisfy project/program objectives, are on-time, in-scope and within budget and resource requirements.Consult project stakeholders/sponsors on project status, constraints, and mitigating measures.Coordinate the integration and alignment of program activities across multiple areas/shifts.Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:Excellent ability to work with multiple stakeholders to achieve program objectives.Demonstrated ability in data analysis, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making.Self-motivated, dependable, organized and able to work with minimal supervision.Proven ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks concurrently and see them to conclusion on a given timeline.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to present technical data to small and large groups.Proven ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success and failure.Proven ability to develop high level of credibility and forge solid professional relationships with all levels within the organization.Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and timelines.Ability to flex working/communication style, and adapt by leader/team, to enhance collaboration.Education and Experience:B.S. or above in a science-related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.Micron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
