focuses on accelerating foundational research, developing standards and models, and cultivating new ideas to make a broad, transformational impact on science.The Allen Institute is seeking an Events Project Manager to develop, lead and implement a convening and events strategy for the Global Partnerships team that results in increased impact, engagement, and connections for the Allen Institute. Reporting to the Associate Director, Philanthropy & Events, the ideal candidate will be an experienced event manager, highly motivated, team-oriented, versatile, and focused on contributing to the long-term success of the Institute’s mission.The Events Project Manager will work closely with the Events Team to ensure expectations are met or exceeded, and that event content, speakers, sessions, and marketing tactics align with Institute goals and objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, passionate about events, creative and works well with stakeholders at multiple levels. They are also detail-oriented and high-performing, with experience in planning and leading meetings and other communications. They anticipate needs, clear obstacles, and identify opportunities to take ownership of tasks and projects.This role will be responsible for delivering a varied program of events in the US and internationally, ranging from small, informal gatherings to large-scale events and executive-level meetings.The Allen Institute believes that team science significantly benefits from the participation of diverse voices, experiences, and backgrounds. We are committed to increasing diversity across every team and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for this role.Essential FunctionsCollaborate with and provide project and program management support to the Global Partnerships events program.Partner with the Events Team to drive events strategy and operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-impact events.Effectively scope events, develop project plans, track milestones, and create communication plans for successful completion of events, while using a high level of attention to detail.Connect and collaborate with executive and senior leadership, and other key scientific and administrative stakeholders to develop and achieve strategic goals through convenings.Drive and execute multiple concurrent events with diverse strategies, timelines, and deadlines.Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining stakeholder engagement.Strong influencing, active listening, and facilitation skills.Work with administrative leadership and functional area heads to resolve resource conflicts and move programs and projects forward.Provide complex administrative support to achieve project goals, objectives, and outcomes.Other duties as assigned.Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of degree and relevant experience.Minimum of 4 years of directly related program/project management experience in non-profit, academic research, or administration, operations.Expertise in MS Office 365 including PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Excel.Demonstrated track record of successful project management and delivery, with a high level of visibility and accountability; ability to evaluate and manage risks associated with operational excellence.Results-driven and have demonstrated ability to lead people toward meeting organizational vision, mission, and goals.Strong partner relationship management skills working across different levels of management.Experience overseeing projects involving cross-functional operational teams and stakeholders.Preferred Education and Experience6+ years of directly related program/project management experience in non-profit, academic research, or administration, operation.Professional certification or credentialing in Program Management.Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills exemplified through recognized credibility and emotional intelligence.Physical DemandsFine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis role is currently working onsite and is expected to work onsite for the majority of working hours.
