Job Title:
Laboratory Technician
The primary job responsibility will be to support the analytical chemistry unit in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare solutions, lab reagents, mobile phases, etc.Test raw materials (nitrogen, drums, liners, filters, etc.)Chemical sampling, packaging, and shipping, to meet customer requestsOrder laboratory supplies and unpacking and labeling of incoming suppliesGlassware cleaning for the analytical laboratoriesShipping samples for outsourcing to subcontractor laboratoriesInventory maintenance, logging new samples, reserve samples, location transfers, etc.Delivery of samples and paperwork throughout the facilityPerforming routine analyses such as pH, appearance, ash, LOD, FTIR, titrations, chromatography support, etc.Participate in equipment qualification and instrument calibrationDisposal of samples and expired chemicalsPrepare documents and files for archiving and storageOther duties as assigned
Minimal Educational Qualifications
The candidate should minimally be a high school graduate and have work experience in chemical operations.
Specific Skills and Requirements
Must know how to use a computer and programs such as Microsoft Office and TeamsMust have basic chemical knowledge and be able to handle materials safelyMust be able to communicate effectively with laboratory personnelMust be able to effectively multitaskExperience with standard lab equipment (balances, pipettes, pH meter, etc.) is desirableThis position requires flexible hours
