Description: Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited life plan community, seeks a
Part-Time Security Officer
to respond to resident needs and emergencies, monitor and respond to alarms, maintain traffic control, and investigate accidents, injuries and disturbances, as required.
This Officer will have hours on Fridays (7:30am-3:30pm) and will fill in for vacant shifts as needed.
SECURITY OFFICER JOB DUTIESCoordinates and participates in emergency situations, providing detailed documentation of activities during the shift and writes articulate incidents reportsReports unsafe conditions to the Security Manager to facilitate quick corrective actionResponds to drills, disasters, fire alarms, or other emergency incidents and provides necessary support and controlsMaintains a secure and reliable key/access control systemMonitors and controls access to Williamsburg Landing property; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to property; screens visitors, contractors, vendors, suppliers, guests, and employees in an efficient manner to expedite admittance to propertyPatrols property and site buildings checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems and unauthorized persons; inspects buildings and grounds on a defined schedule; periodically patrols propertyObserves and reports incidents or suspicious activity to management and/or public safety authoritiesAssists others during emergencies that may include providing emergency First Aid, CPR, AED, and manually lifting or transporting those in a compromised stateEmployees may be required to work overtime or variable shifts and be on call.
SECURITY OFFICER QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalentCurrent Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License requiredAbility to read & write clearly in English; ability to speak clearly over the phone/hand-held radioAbility to climb stairs, get in & out of a motor vehicle unassisted, ability to stand & walk for long periods of timeAbility to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach during the normal course of the dayAbility to complete the Department Field Training Program within 30 days of hireAbility to obtain a CPR/AED/First Aid CertificationBENEFITS403(b) Retirement Plan529 College Savings PlanHoliday Pay
