The Position:
Reporting to the Controller, thisposition will assist in planning, directing, reviewing all accounting functionsto provide timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with establishedaccounting policies and procedures and

chart

accounts
that
will
result
in
the
efficient
management
of
NHEC.
In
addition,
assist
in
accounting for work orders to assureaccurate and current property records within established policies andrequirements of
FERC.
Job Responsibilities
:
Supports
the
strategic
goals
of
NHEC
by
assisting
in
the
process
of
developing,
reporting
on,
and
achieving Balanced Scorecard objectives.Supportsthe cultural goals of NHEC by exhibiting self-leadership, developing andmaintaining effective working relationships, being results oriented andinnovative, and seeks feedback.Increasesprofessional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes, readingprofessional magazines, and participating in professional societies, as wellengage in process improvement training and initiativesAffirmsthat the General Ledger balances are accurate by reviewing the activity postedto the financial records of NHEC and reconciling balances to subsidiaryledgers.Provideshistorical financial information to management by compiling data and generatingreports as
assigned.Assists
in
the
monthly
closing
of
NHEC’s
financial
records
by
preparing
journal
entries
as
needed.Assists
in
the
monthly
closing
of
NHEC’s
financial
records
by
inputting
journal
entries
to
the
General
Ledger and monitors the stage ofcompletion for the closing process.Provides
backup
to
the
Accounts
Payable
Specialist
by
periodically
preparing
the
weekly
check
run
process in their absence.Provides
backup
to
the
Accountant
by
monitoring
cash
transactions
and
wire
transfers.Assistsin the external auditing process by developing and providing various schedulesrequired by the outside audit firm. This includes follow-up questions oranalysis work that may arises.Assists
the
Work
Order
Cost
Accountant
with
the
monthly
closing
process
for
work
orders
to
ensure
work orders
are accurate
by
verifying the accuracy
of transactions
posted to
the
work
orders
and ensure
work orders are posted to the continuing property records in atimely manner.Ensuresan efficient and effective accounting function is maintained by providingback-up support as
requested.Improvescorporate safety performance by maintaining a safe and clean workingenvironment, participating in department safety meeting, adhering to EmployeeSafety Rules and Procedures, recognizing at risk behaviors and conditions andtaking corrective actions or providing feedback.Performs

Working Conditions:Mostof the daily work schedule will be performed in the main office with fieldtrips to district offices and NHEC facilities.Eligible for hybridwork schedule (up to 3 days per week) dependent upon management approval &workload, however on-site office work in the Plymouth, NH area will be required.
Will be required to worklong hours on occasions, especially during major system outages. Occasionaltravel required in the performance of work responsibilities.Assistancewith power restoration efforts is required of all employees.
It maybe required during regular business hours that employees will be assignedfunctions to support power restoration and for some employees that may bedifferent from their normal duties. In addition, such assistance may requireworking nights, weekends and holidays which may involve considerable extrahours.
