Job Summary:
Responsible for leadership role in providing safe, structured, environment that meets the needs of the Unaccompanied Children (UC's) while always maintaining professional and acceptable boundaries. Responsible for the actions of all Medical Assistant/Youth Specialists and their daily interactions with the children. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment as well adherence to the rules and policies set forth by the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides supervision to Medical Assistants/Youth Specialists including training of new staff.
Conducts regular individual and group supervisor sessions.
Documents all personnel issues in conjunction with agency policy.
Monitors and ensures that the Medication log is appropriately completed by staff.
Checks Medication Cabinet daily – removing expired medication or medication for children who are discharged.
Meets 2x a week with Medical Coordinators to review the medication lists, and request medication for any child in process of discharge.
Attends weekly Staffing and presents medical issues and progress of any assigned child.
Works in collaboration with all Units supervisors to assure supervisor coverage is 24/7.
Monitors maintenance needs of unit and ensures timely maintenance requests.
Monitors cleanliness and appearance of unit and ensures proper supplies.
Attends all mandatory trainings.
Assures there is a medical assistant for any child requiring one to one.
Works closely with Senior Supervisor to assure there are ratio’s and all children are safe.
Maintains an on-going staff schedule and ensures replacement coverage as needed.
Coordinates services with other agency departments.
Maintains effective collegial relationships with Lead Case Manager, Medical, Unit Supervisors, Lead Clinician, Educational Coordinator and Supervisor of Transportation.
Establishes and monitors compliance with federal, agency, departmental and unit policies, procedures and routines.
Monitors that the individual and special needs of the children are met.
Monitors and ensured provisions of a varied and appropriate recreational program.
Demonstrates group management and crisis intervention skills.
Monitors compliance with fire drill and fire alarm procedures.
Coordinates to ensures appropriate educational programming.
Appropriate coverage.
Ensure and monitor Medical Assistant/Youth Specialist have a good work ethic.
Any other related duties as required.
About You:

You have a Minimum High School Diploma (BA preferred) + minimum of 3 years supervisory experience working with at risk youth or working with special needs population
You are proficient in Spanish and English (required), both written and oral.
You have a valid driver’s license.
You have strong organizational and communication skills both written and oral.
You have the ability to demonstrate counseling techniques and genuine sensitivity to children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds and with children with special needs.
