Warbird Healthcare Advisors actively seeks experienced hands-on consultants to be considered for an Interim Controller role with a Critical Access Hospital in the Midwest. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing financial leadership in a turnaround situation and ensure that monthly financial reporting is completed accurately in a timely manner. Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Interim Controller will develop, implement and administer financial control and manage the department.
Location: Hybrid (MN) - first month onsite, then remote after
Duration: 3-6 months
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* The Controller ensures that policies are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulations and existing federal and state laws.* Ensures integrity and accuracy of reported financial information, to include all aspects of monthly financial close.* Ensure accurate financial reporting, and providing leadership and direction to the department* Conducts routine (monthly) reviews of all balance sheet account reconciliations.* Develops and maintains facility specific audit program and financial report distribution packet.* Provides direct responsibility for coordination/assistance with the Audit function* Coordinates and prepares external financial reporting items (Cost Report workpapers, Tax workpapers, surveys, etc.)* Leads general finance functions to include monthly financial reporting, month-end close, and all associated analysis and to provide any and all needed financial analysis to management team to aid their decision making
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting required* CPA with strong accounting and financial operations experience* Must have healthcare experience in accounting or finance areas* 5+ years of Financial Accounting Experience* Experience with Cerner
