Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Remote with occasional travel to head office.

Salary:

$250,000 - $300,000 base salary with bonuses, leading to a total package of up to $500,000 per annum

About the Company:

Our client, a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) utility-scale solar company, has established itself as one of the most significant solar PV installers in the USA by MW in 2023. As they embark on an ambitious growth trajectory, they are looking to expand their scale and volume of work through strategic capital raising, mergers, and acquisitions. The company aims to cement its position as one of the largest Solar & BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) companies in the United States. The role of the CFO will span this EPC and a group portfolio that includes distribution companies, civil construction contracting businesses, and an investment business, with the EPC being the largest entity in the group.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our client's executive team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial leader with a strong track record in raising significant capital, identifying gaps and opportunities in P&L, and capitalizing on market opportunities. The CFO will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth through strategic financial management and contributing to the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, and analysis.

Identify gaps and opportunities in the P&L to drive financial performance and efficiency.

Develop and execute strategies for raising capital, with a target of $200 million in the first round, though smaller accumulative rounds will also be considered.

Oversee financial operations across the EPC and related businesses in the group portfolio.

Manage relationships with lenders, investment houses, and other capital streams relevant to construction within renewable energy.

Provide strategic input on mergers and acquisitions to support the company's expansion goals.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.

Mentor and develop the finance team to build a high-performing finance function.

Collaborate with other executives to drive overall business strategy and performance.

Key Attributes:

Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar senior financial leadership role, preferably within the renewable energy sector or private equity.

Strong track record of raising significant capital and managing investor relations.

Extensive knowledge of financial management, including P&L analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive growth.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.

In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA .

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role.

Proven experience in raising capital and managing mergers and acquisitions.

Strong network of contacts within lenders, investment houses, and capital streams relevant to the construction and renewable energy sectors.

Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to the office in the New England area.
